They could be. But, I am going to let you into a little secret...
I run all my studio gear ungrounded. Every time I have something grounded, I get a huge amount of noise that runs over the signal. It's almost like the noise floor comes up by about 30 or 40 db. I think it's the house I live in... the wiring might be hold so when I ground stuff... it's actually not or some kind of loop ocurrs. I don't know. But running things ungrounded seemed to get rid of the issue...
The only issue is, if I touch my patchbay I tend to get a small shock from time to time so it's probably not the safest way to run my kit in respect to me but what can I say for prestine sound. I get zapped if I drink from a soda can that's sweating and then patch something. Nasty.
So, you could try different connections. Maybe get some TSR's that are actually grounded or something if your running your kit grounded.
I am sure some other people will have other suggestions.
